Andrea has worked in the legal industry for over 20 years and has practised as a lawyer for the last 13 years. She practised as lawyer at Hunt & Hunt Lawyers for 10 years and has worked in smaller boutique law firms prior to joining Boyd-Boland Law as a Principal at the end of 2010.

The focus of her work has been litigation which includes reviewing contracts, advising on contractual terms, advising on strategies for litigation including dispute resolution, defence strategies, advising clients on interpretation of insurance policies, interpretation of statutes, assessing damages for catastrophic personal injury claims and general advice.

Andrea has considerable experience in recovery actions having acted for a major utility to recover compensation for damage to pipes and other assets caused during building and construction works.

Andrea has experience in building and construction matters, home builders’ warranty matters and has represented clients in the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal and the Supreme Court. She has also advised and acted for owners and developers in respect of claims made under the Security of Payments Act 1999 including drafting responses to adjudication applications.

As part of Andrea’s experience and studies she also has experience in family law, property law, criminal law, commercial disputes including advising on provisions of the Trade Practices Act and the Fair Trading Act.
