Anne O’Donoghue is an accredited specialist in immigration law and is the director and principal lawyer of Immigration Solutions Lawyers Pty Ltd. Admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1981, the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1987 and the High Court of Australia in 1982, Anne has worked as an immigration lawyer for the past 19 years. Anne is a registered migration agent (MARN: 9368943). Over her years of practice and experience, Anne has handled a range of different matters, including many complex and high-profile cases. She has an excellent ‘hands-on’ and collaborative approach within her practice. Anne has significant experience in acting for both Australian and multi-national companies from different sectors including construction, mining, health, hospitality and travel. She assisted these companies in employing foreign workers for major projects and giving them advice in their compliance with sponsorship obligations. Anne also has experience in assisting foreign companies and private clients in establishing their initial business in Australia.She is an executive member and the founding vice president of the Immigration Lawyers’ Association of Australasia (ILAA) – a focus group of the international law section of the Law Council of Australia; a member of the Law Society of NSW; a member of the international law section of the Law Council of Australia, previously serving on the executive of the international law section of the Law Council of Australia; a patron member of the International Bar Association (IBA); a committee member of IBA’s immigration and nationality law committee; an associate member of the American Bar Association – international section; and a non-resident member of the New York State Bar Association’s international section.As a figure in the immigration law profession, Anne has participated in and spoken at several important conferences including the 2002 IBA Conference in Durban, South Africa, the 2009 Monash Law Student Society “Justice and Equity Series 09 the 2010 and 2011 Annual Immigration Lawyers Association Australasia (ILAA) conference, the Annual International Bar Association (IBA) Conference held at Vancouver in October 2010 for their Global Business Immigration Update Seminar and the fifth Biennial Global Immigration Conference held by the International Bar Association (IBA) in London. Anne recently spoke at the 2011 IBA Conference in Dubai where she discussed the latest issues in immigration law.rnAnne was also part of the Sydney Organising Committee for the sixth Immigration Lawyers Association of Australasia (ILAA) Conference held on 9 and 10 March, 2012. Anne is co-moderating a session at the 2012 IBA Conference in Dublin as a representative of the immigration and nationality committee.As a thought leader for the law practice, Anne has co-authored several important immigration law articles, published on the FindLaw website and on other international publications. One of her recent projects included writing a chapter on Australia for the Corporate Immigration Law Review 2011 published by Law Business Research.
