Mr Jack Leitner is a highly experienced, dedicated and astute criminal defence lawyer who is a Senior Member of our Criminal Defence Team.

Jack completed degrees in Law (with Honours), Social Science majoring in Criminology and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2003 and of the High Court of Australia in 2008, Jack has practised almost exclusively in criminal defence throughout his career.

Jack has over a decade of experience defending clients in the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeal. He is a passionate defence lawyer who fights to obtain the best possible outcomes for his clients through attention to detail, great skill and commitment from start to finish.

Jacku2019s wealth of experience extends from minor criminal cases such as drink driving, drug possession, assaults, AVOs, fraud and major traffic offences to the most serious criminal charges such as murder, commercial drug cases, aggravated sexual assault, armed robbery and large-scale fraud.

He has represented several high profile clients from Australian swimmer Nick Darcy to heads of leading Australian corporations.

Jacku2019s outstanding professionalism and ability as an astute and determined criminal lawyer have earned him not only the respect of fellow professionals but also Judges and Magistrates as well.

His interest in criminal law extends beyond his work as a criminal defence lawyer and advocate.

He completed university studies in criminology and has prepared an Honours Thesis analysing the challenges of dealing with DNA evidence in the context of jury trials.

Jack has previously guest lectured at University and recently delivered a paper titled Legislative Responses to u2018Outlawu2019 Motorcycle Gangs in Australia.

He speaks Polish and has assisted many people within the Polish community with respect to criminal law matters.

He is a member of the NSW Legal Aid Commissionu2019s u2018Generalu2019 and u2018Serious and Complexu2019 Criminal Law Panels and an integral part of Sydneyu2019s Best Criminal Defence Team.
