Trudy is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. She has specialised in sophisticated business succession and personal estate planning for more than two decades. Her services include the provision of top quality up to date professional advice about wills, enduring powers of attorney, advance health directives, and in particular the construction of testamentary trust wills containing strategies for dealing with challenges many families are faced with. Examples of some of those challenges are, providing for u201cblended familiesu201d, children with disabilities and the difficulties of preventing the family wealth being u201cblownu201d by an immature or vulnerable beneficiary.

Trudy has a Bachelor of Laws degree from QUT and a Master of Laws degree from UQ u2013 her main focus for her Masters degree was on Superannuation and Trusts. She is also a member of the Queensland Law Society, an Associate member of the Taxation Institute of Australia, a Fellow of FINSIA and a member of Succession Trust and Estates Practitioners.

Trudy has worked with some of Brisbane’s leading law firms and trustee companies and also was very successful running her own practice.

Trudy is a respected authority, speaker and lecturer in the Financial Services Industry and is able to combine a high level of flexibility to meet the challenges of todayu2019s commercial, financial and legal environments, whilst maintaining the highest compliance standards of the legal system.

Now as an external consultant for the boutique firm of Bywaters Timms Lawyers, Trudy is able to continue her passion for all aspects of estate planning u2013 which is essentially about protecting your family wealth for future generations u2013 she assists clients by advising on and implementing strategies to assist in the asset protection and tax minimization of family wealth.
